I started my fitness journey in my early 20’s. Like a lot of people, and especially women, I would walk into a gym and hop on any available cardio machine because I did not have the confidence to lift weights or use any of the fancy non-cardio machines. For a really long time, lifting weights has been depicted as only something that men do and look good doing. Weight lifting has been seen as more of an abnormal thing for women because it’s rumored to make them “bulky” or even been “manly.” I’m here to tell you that is absolutely FALSE - there are so, so many benefits to resistance training including achieving that toned look everyone wants.
I gained inspiration from my social media channels by seeing women lifting weights and wanting to try to do the same. Slowly but surely I changed from doing only cardio workouts to including resistance training in my routine. I’m positive that at the beginning I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, but with some persistence and dedication I have learned A LOT and fitness, in a sense, has really changed my life. I thoroughly enjoy the process, the hard work and the blood, sweat and tears that goes into it. It is one of the hardest things I have done in my life, but also the most rewarding .
I am certain that there are so many women (and men) out there like me that don’t know where to start, what to do, and don’t have the confidence to do so. Opening our social media platforms and watching videos of both men and women cruising through a workout that looks to be very challenging can be motivating but a lot of the time, lets be honest - it’s intimidating. You may have thoughts like “I could never do that” or “I could never look like that” or “I don’t even know where to begin.” I know because I had all of these same thoughts and I am here to help you change that mindset and guide you to not only have the body that you dream of but gain something far more important, feeling as good on the inside as you look on the outside!
